NO omg

It's only a heart issue...

I've heard from some that the issue of saying "OMG" is a heart issue and that it's not something that even deserves consideration.  I agree completely that it is a heart issue, but it's of grave importance and does deserve consideration.

As Christians, we are supposed to rid our selves of such things as filthy language. So, if I came up to you and asked you "How the f*ck are you doing?" Or said "I'm hungry as a mother f**ker!" or "something smells like sh*t in here..." etc. It may shock you that I was professing to be a Christian and still talking like that.  What if you heard the pastor at your church say that he wanted to end the sermon early because he "has a lot of sh*t to do this weekend..." You'd likely be outraged and wonder why he was using such filthy language.

You can see that the heart isn't really the issue in those cases... Having a lot of stuff to do and wanting to finish a sermon early isn't a sign of a sinful heart.  But as Christians, we're called to be holy and not use that type of language. If I switch the word stuff with sh*t, that's not that terrible (although we shouldn't do it), but if we use God's holy name in vain, or as a cuss word, that's much, much worse.
