OMG - "Oh My Gosh"
So you say that when you type "omg" or "OMG" you are actually saying "oh my gosh."
If others see that us Christians are typing "OMG" how would they know that we are meaning gosh, instead of God? As Christians we should be, and are, called to be good examples in our conduct and speech. Just like I'm sure you wouldn't think it'd be appropriate for someone to say "What the funk?" or "Son of a beach" -- That being said, even with these other phrases just mentioned, the issue is not regarding blasphemy (using God's name in vain). God would rather you use a four letter filth word to express disgust than to use his His holy name.
Blasphemy (using God's name in vain) is just one of the 10 Commandments. Check out the other of God's commandments here.
